Tilden Park's Visitor Center
Berkeley Hills and Carquinez Strait begins on familar ground. The south side shows EBPRD's core areas – Tilden, Wildcat Canyon, and Briones Regional Parks, plus EBMUD's public and permit-only trails along San Pablo and Briones Reservoirs.
The north side is the first good map showing Point Pinole and Carquinez Strait Regional Shorelines; Crockett Hills Regional Park, Fernandez Ranch Preserve, and John Muir National Historic Site together. The Bay Area Ridge Trail and San Francisco Bay Trail are starting to connect these public lands, including a planned 50-mile Carquinez Strait Scenic Loop linking the Carquinez and Benicia-Martinez bridges. (The map doesn't indicate this loop but shows many of its component trails and bike paths. There are still 3-4 big gaps to solve).North and South (back and front) of Berkeley Hills map:
Sample: shows the southern tip of Tilden Regional Park, including 1905-foot Vollmer Peak and the model steam trains. The map shows single track vs. fire roads, mileages, views, gates, and stairways.<
